Our Cricket Academy & Club Coaching Scheme of Work
Does my child need Cricket experience?
11-15 Academy:
Ideally, yes they should have some sort of Cricket experience prior to attending an Academy session. The sessions are aimed at children that already play Cricket either for school or a club and are looking to take their game to the next level. Practice drills are aimed at children that already have an understanding of the basic technique for batting, bowling and fielding.
8-11 Academy:
We would expect that children would have some knowledge of Cricket but not necessarily to have played at a club yet. Our sessions are designed to cater for children that have played a lot of cricket and for children that haven't.
Does my child need to be invited to attend these sessions?
No, they don't. Anyone from any club/school can come along and join us. If you're unsure whether the session will be suitable for them, just give us a shout via the website or by phone (07855887563) or by email (pete.ausporteducation@gmail.com).
Do we need any equipment?
11-15 Academy:
Yes, you will need essential equipment such as bat, pads, helmet, gloves & a box and you may wish to bring along a thigh guard too
8-11 Academy:
It isn't essential that you have your own equipment as much of what we do is with soft cricket balls. It can be handy though to bring your own bat if you do have one. Bring along pads too as we do sometimes manage to use hard balls for those that want to try it.
Do I need to stay and watch?
You can but you don't have to. If you need to go off and do something else to pass the time you can. All you need to do is complete a consent form, which you can do online when booking.
